My Story in Sport

The Athlete, The Coach, and the Consultant
My story with sport began like most with older siblings who played sports, playing whatever that was at all times. My first was basketball, getting on the adjacent unused courts at AAU tournaments, shooting on the main court during halftime. I quickly picked up just about any sport I could from then, playing baseball, bowling, golf, skiing, and eventually the one that stuck, soccer.
I was relatively successful throughout my time in sport, until I got to college and the level was that much higher, especially being a goalkeeper. Most of us reach our prime goalkeeping age in our later 20s to 30s - not because our bodies are more explosive, limber, or energetic, but because the mental side of the game has gotten easier, we've experienced more, learned more lessons.
After completing my college career, I went into coaching and goalkeeper coaching at the high school and college levels, working with some athletes with the physical attributes to be great. Similarly to my college experience, however, something still fell short.
Searching for this answer led me to Sport and Performance Psychology and mental performance consulting. I now strive to help others with their mental game, overcoming performance barriers like anxiety, confidence, and performance routines.
Exercising your strongest muscle, your brain, is imperative to achieving greatness.
